Such a beautiful relaxing place! So peaceful. The food is farm to table and absolutely mouth watering. So good for the gut and soul. The owner, waiter and server are wonderful and so helpful. We will be back!!

Locally sourced ingredients, elegantly prepared, with dynamic flavors. This is what you can expect when dining at Local Roots. The menu is ever-changing, depending on what's in season. Recently I've had the fried mushrooms, homemade hummus platter, and Virginia mussels. A great place to share meals with your table and try a bit of everything. It's such a welcoming environment, like you've walked into an old friend's home. Complete with fun artwork adorning the walls. Due to the pandemic, tables are placed farther apart, resulting in less available reservations and masks are required when not sitting.Try takeout if you aren't comfortable eating inside yet.

Food was pretty tasty but a little bland for me. My friend loved her stuff pepper. The cocktail was very generous. Plating was great. There was a live musician on a keyboard when we dined on Friday night

Dined here 9/7/22, Local and Farm fresh indeed! This cute little restaurant in the middle of this adorable neighborhood was a wonderful experience. The fish was mouthwateringly delectable and filling, the drinks crafted and refreshing the appetizer delish. Chocolate tart was yummy too. 10/10!

The good: My wife ordered the shrimp and grits...Hands down one of the best we have ever had. I would highly recommend this dish! The OK: Had the raw oysters...would have preferred to have the mignonette on the side as it overwhelmed the sweetness of the oysters. The not so good: I had the LR biscuit...fried egg was cooked perfectly...now I like fat, but the pastrami could have been trimmed a bit as it was overly fatty. I could have overlooked this if I had a proper biscuit to remake it on. The biscuit was overworked and I did not eat it at all. For $16 it was the worst money I spent all weekend.

The last time we went to Local Roots was almost 2 years ago, and this time was just as fantastic. The menu is constantly changing to feature the most fresh local ingredients, the staff are polite and helpful, the food is immaculate, and the drinks are to die for. We went for my husband's birthday on June 30th and I believe our server's name was Lauren, and she was so sweet! Don't walk, RUN to Local Roots.

Really really delicious and very reasonable for the quality and quantity. This was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We saw other reviews saying the portions were small but we thought they were ample, any bigger would have been too much. Service was attentive but not disruptive and the atmosphere was really nice and comfortable. Our first trip to Roanoke and Local Roots and we will be back to both!
